Vasuvio's Organic Gourmet Cafe

Colpitts and I went to Vasuvio's Organic Gourmet Cafe. They are located at 155 Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. The phone number that is listed on the Cafe's website (http://www.vasuvioscafe.com) is 801-596-2052.

The atmosphere was plain, yet there was some cozy seating tucked between the window and with couches along the north wall (think simple-IKEA with a touch of green house plants). The music playing in the background featured artists such as Colbie Caillat, Tracy Chapman, and other female artists. Thank you Lilith Fair for returning for 2010! http://www.lilithfair.com/

I ordered the Turkey-Havarti panini with a garden salad. Every order has the option of tortilla chips and salsa or barbecue flavored potato chips. The portions are generous and for $9.50 my plate was full with a half sandwich, homemade Italian dressing and green salad, and chips with fresh salsa.

Prices and service was great. Looking forward to returning as the daily specials change. Colpitts a beloved meat and potatoes guy ventured and tried the veggie chili.

The location is great for the roamer in all of us. Close to Sam Weller's a wonderful bookstore to indulge for a few hours. Check out the map section. If you need more exercise, during the winter months, an outdoor ice rink is open for skating. And if you want to stay over, Hotel Monaco spoils guests with evening wine and chair massages. In the morning you can read the paper by fireside in the lobby while sipping Mighty Leaf tea or coffee. You may even encounter a pet guest as the Hotel is pet friendly.
